User Data Deletion
This page explains how Muwa users can request deletion of account data and what records may need to be retained for safety, legal, payment, or support reasons.
1. How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion of your Muwa account data by contacting Muwa from the WhatsApp number linked to your account or by emailing privacy@muwa.io.
- Include your registered phone number, email address if available, and whether you use Muwa as a shopper, runner, or both.
- If you email us, we may ask you to verify account ownership before processing the request.
2. What We Delete
After verification, Muwa will delete or de-identify personal data that is no longer needed to provide the service or meet legal, safety, accounting, fraud prevention, support, or dispute resolution requirements.
- Account profile details that are not required for retained records.
- Inactive registration or application details where retention is no longer necessary.
- Support or communication data that does not need to be kept for operational, safety, or legal reasons.
3. Data We May Need to Keep
Some records may be retained where required to complete transactions, process refunds, maintain financial records, investigate fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, enforce platform rules, or comply with applicable law.
4. Processing Time
Muwa aims to review verified deletion requests within 7 days. Complex requests, unresolved orders, active payouts, disputes, or legal obligations may require more time.
